I have always respected Dan Rather and still to this day miss him on the CBS Evening News. He is not afraid to get in someones face to get the facts. So please ask him to check this out in the present tense. This is going on all around us each and every day. Families are torn apart and lives are ruined on a daily basis. I am going to use the Facebook page to comment to Dan Rather. I hope anyone that reads this will do the same. HDNet on facebook is the best place I can find to comment to him.

Different states have different names for these organizations but they all boil down to the same thing. THEY STEAL OUR CHILDREN!!!
I am not saying that there are not real cases where children should not be taken out of the home for their own protection.
What I am saying is that, they like to take children from happy secure homes. Do you know that these organizations get paid for taking your children? YES! they do

You may not think Child protective services is your probem but it effects us all
Check out this story, there are thousands of videos on youtube, it is unbelievable what these people get by with. I think CPS (child protective services) which means DCFS & Catholic charities here in Illinois, should be completely abolished and start over from scratch. I also feel that a lot of them should be prosecuted and imprisoned.
If you are a murderer, rapist, or thief you have the right to a jury of your peers, but in family courts you have no right to a jury because if we did there would be a hell of a lot less kids in foster care. Then these programs would not have the resources to your tax dollars
The state of Illinois is known to be one of the worst states for taking your babies and selling them. Of course we are talking about Illinois. This state is one of the worst, if not the worst state for being corrupt. But quite frankly it is everywhere.
Do you know that when a child is taken from foster care and adopted (especially babies) Illinois and all other states, make a lot of money. Now when I confronted one of their workers they told me that they don't get money from the federal government, they get grants, duh, They must really think we are all stupid.
Please do our children a favor and google, CPS (child protective services) or corrupt CPS and see what comes up. It is unbelievable what they get away with. The children that are in need of being taken, are not. Hell that would be too much work. and the poorer you are the biggest chance you have to have your children taken. They don't want you to be able to afford an attorney and heaven help you if you need a public defender. you might as well just sit back and do nothing, you will get further that way than you will with most of the public defenders that are assigned to family court, if they do anything they lie to you and work against you..
They are all in it together, the social workers, judges, child protective service workers, the counselor, all of them work for the state and they are all out to take your children and ruin our children/grandchildren lives and ours.
I feel for the CPS workers.that try to do the right thing I don't imagine they last too long in the profession and I am sure they are few are far between. I have a friend that works for a big drug rehab program (she is a counselor) and she refuses to take any case that is involved with Child protective services. She said that is she did a positive report for a patient the CPS worker would change things around and twist her words to fit CPS's purpose so that it would look bad for the client that was working to get their children back. I also know a couple of other people that have dealt professionally with CPS and they say the same thing, that they have had similar experiences.
Of course most attorneys are not willing to take on these people, because they know they are fighting a losing battle. So you get the worthless public defenders that don't care, hell they work for the state, they make their measly amount of money no matter what.
My opinion about "maybe not all" public defenders are worthless. They don't care about our children, they are just there for the paycheck. Especially the older people because they aren't good enough to be lawyers and besides let's face it, it is too much work that is why they are public defenders, they can look and act like they are running on 2 cells left in their brains and that is ok because that is what family courts want representing the accused which in a lot of the cases are actually the victims of our corrupt ran state of Illinois.
Nancy Schaefer exposes the EVIL CPS search this on You Tube, Go on there and search her name "Nancy Schaefer" and see what she had to say about "child protective services" you will not believe it. She was a senator in Georgia and lost her seat because she was going after the low lifes. A couple of years ago she and her husband were found dead. Hmmm...wonder why that would be? I did not know her personally but my heart goes out to her family. I am sure she and her husband are truly missed. But just what I have researched about her, tells me that she was a wonderful woman and she was on a mission to save our children.
If saving our children is not reason enough for you to read about the corrupt child protective services, then read it because your tax dollars are supporting this.
How has this gotten so far out of hand. These so called Case workers need to be investigated to see what kind of background they come from.

You are so right. I live in Illinois (shameful state) and we are in such a financial state we will probably never get out of it. So our children and grand children are at even greater risk if they live in this "wonderful" state. I cannot believe what our government can get by with. I would be afraid to have any small children these days.
The money that the State gets is from Title IV-D funding, straight out of our social Security! The more children CPS steals the more money the States get from the Federal Gov't so essentially we as workers are paying for them to STEAL our children!! This is rampant - this also HAS TO STOP.

I know what you are talking about. They don't need a reason to take your children. If they don't have one they will just make one up and that is a fact!!! I have a couple of grand children I will never know because of Child protective services. There is no justice at all. Hardened criminals have more rights in this country than parents do

You are so right about the "Baby Snatchers". I have lost a couple of my grand children because of Child Protective Services.
One of my children and her babies are in the same mess. They (child protective services) have also changed our family forever.
Ya know dangerous criminal have more rights than parents do in the court of law. In fact it is hard for me to even refer to the monkey court as a Court of Law. No jury of your peers or anything. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE AND INFURIATES ME!
So much of the time "CPS" take the children from parents that don't deserve it. I guess it is easier and a lot less work.

Everything you say here is true. There is no due process with CPS false accusations, no jury trials, and biolgical parents are always assumed guilty. Okay, first, I'd like to apologize if my previous comment seemed a little rude. I just couldn't control my anger. I really am someone who hasn't had an incident with CPS. I don't even know if what they are doing down south is actually happening in Canada. But if it is, I'm scared for myself, but mostly for my friends and their families. I'm just a kid, but I want to be able to make a difference in my life by doing somthing that can change lives. I want to spread the word of this corruption as much as a can. I'm not scared of what might happen to myself right now, but I want to make sure that my family and my friends families are safe. I don't have my own children. I'm only a teenager who wants to make a difference. I'm only in the country area up in Canada. I'm sick of what the world is becoming. Now it's all just about the money, about profit, about power. There are people who want this world to change. Just rules get in the way. When they can't see the G** D*** F****** TRUTH I feel like giving them my own F****** OPINION!!! But I can't. Because I'm a kid. Because they think we don't really matter except for profit in the eyes of most people. But we do matter. We are the future of this world. And if we are given away to complete strangers who are knownw for being child abusers, molesters and all that s***, what future does the world have? How do people trapped in this system keep their children safe from this type of corruption? -deep breath- I want this to end. I want the world to be at least a bit brighter. I want to bring an end to this corruption and I'm sure there are millions of other parents and other people who want it to end. I don't know if I'm allowed to do this, but if you agree with me, spread this message around to your friends and to their friends. This needs to end.

If you have time you can go to youtube.com and look up Senator Nancy Shaefer. You can learn a lot from her speeches. She took on CPS and ended up dead. There is a lot of controversy surrounding her death.

My son has been riped from our arms since febuary 9th 2011 he's only 2 years old.My name is chrystal and they are hurting us because i have a disablity and i am boarderline diabetic. and my husband occassionally drinks but i'm always home when he does.
we need to find someone who will chanllenge these corrupt people,and investigate the investigators of these evil people the bilble says no evil doers will have peace....come on everyone should ban together put whatever little monies we have, put it all together and go to where ever we need to go to show parental support for our rights as foster parents, we've given and put in so much time and effort to give foster children what the bio-parents did'nt, love and nurturing even deprive our own selves and our families sometimes to take care of these children, only to be paid back by humiliation, jail time, because after these kids are taken they are made to lie on the parents this is the worst, i would'nt recommend foster care to anyone else ever again...
CPS NEEDS TO LOOK AT THE FACts of each case. i know that what i did wrong, even though it was petty in nature. but as a great father i now feel that because of cps im not so sure if the stress of the whole ordeal is making me a better one."catch 22 from hell"!im in a wheel chair because i was in an accident, not involving my son, and was left almost dead or paralized. im ok now but the 250 feet i drove my car while my 2\1/2 year old son was sleeping within eyesight of my car, locked in the house, and safe i swerved for a deer, and hit a ditch fracturing my pelvis. i was life flighted out with my son alone in the house. with in minutes someone was there to take care of him. thank god he was still sleeping. as a great father and highly educated i dont think that cps should deem me a drunk or drug addict. now i have to attend parenting classes, which everyone could use, but drug and alcohol classes?! comon!! they are causing us greif of long travel< and time away from eachother because the "safety plan" in affect does not allow me to be unsupervised w my son. divorce is only arond the corner. so tell me this,am i now a good father and husband? in my opinion, no where near how i was, and thanks to cps for trying to help out our alredy normal and productive lives only to pretty much destroy it. things happened, and its all how you accept things that are already in place, or things that you cant control. but as good people trying to follow happiness, we should all realize something. happiness is a virtue without regret, and nobody should ever stand in the way of that with blind malice and jugement. kevin zientek texas.

Marcy, thank you so much for this article. I'm sorry about your daughter. It's an outrage. I thought I knew quite a bit about CPS until it happened to someone I know (not me). The system is even more unfair and corrupt than I dreamed. I've read my friend's CPS reports, and the dishonesty is staggering.
I'm going to start writing to my elected representatives, especially on the state level. I'll be asking them to cut funding that encourages the destruction of families, and to make it easier for falsely accused parents to have their names removed from the state's central child abuse registry. Please, anyone who's reading this, do some research, get informed, and make your voice heard where it counts. Removing children from a good home is traumatic to the whole family. If our state senators and representatives hear from enough of us, we may be able to get some laws changed. No child deserves to be stolen from a good home just so a government agency can pocket thousands of dollars in bonuses.
melluv, you must be the one on drugs. Did, I say that I was having problems with CPS. Duh! no I did not. My children are all adults, I have never had an incident with CPS.
You obviously did not read tthe article before you started spewing at the mouth. Normally, I don't get upset about what someone says, everyone has an opinion but I DO NOT APPRECIATE YOU, ASKING IF I AM ON DRUGS!!

are you on drugs seriously. You made some mistakes as a parent swallow your pride .Do what the social worker asks maybe you might learn a thing or two. Nobody wants to be labeled a bad parent but you are given an opportunity to make things right just do it.Your children will thank you.Im speaking from experience accept your wrong and fix it dont seek out someone to blame that is a waste of time you should have had with your kids.
Thank you for the support. Yes it has been absolutely crazy. My daughter is one of the best moms I have ever known. She loves her girls more than anything. She was found guilty of child abuse. Then a couple days after wards her worker told me that she has no doubt that my daughter has never abused the girls and also that when they took the girls they seemed so happy and chipper, unlike abused kids that have been taken from their parents. She (Dominic from catholic charities the case worker)has twisted and has even lied to the judge and other people about my daughter. This whole thing is unbelievable.
The judge even told my daughter that we could not go to the press about this. Or speak about it on facebook or anything else.
This has been such a nightmare I cannot even begin to explain it all.

I see that your page was written 7 months ago. I bet not much has changed has it? Several months ago, as an assignment in my sociology classes I was given an assignment that pertained to child abuse. Consumed with other classes, I did little to no research and turned it in. Well I decided to take the summer off and have been keeping my brain busy furthering research on assignments like this and listing them on my hub. I started to research child abuse and child protective services about a week ago and let me tell you there are thousands of cases like yours, where CPS has taken children from capable loving parents, split them up and placed them in foster care. Foster Care ? know for it’s unqualified, unloving, and unhappy homes. Taking these children from all they have ever know where they are perfectly content and placing them in where it has been proved to cause 6x more deaths than there prior residence.
Since the economy has fallen, this “kidnapping kids for cash”, has exploded.The government has found a way to keep their own employeed. Bad economy, NO PAY CUTS HERE. I watched a court proceeding where a woman had her three children taken away in 17 MINUTES for missing 1 extra day off school allowed. This happened even after she tried to prove, but was cut off, that she tried sending her children to school, only for them to send the children home because they didn’t feel well. After the judgment they went straight to the school and picked up her children, allowing no good buys or further information on where they were taking her children. She later highered an attorney, aware that what just happened was completely wrong……CPS would not be threatened. Since she obtained an attorney 14 children, nieces, nephews, and cousins, have been taken from her family, giving little to no explanation.
You are 100% right…These people are paid for the retrieval of children, they are paid even more when the children are thrown into fast track adoption and adopted. On November 19, 1997, the President, Bill Clinton, signed into law (P.L. 105-89) the Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997. This law puts aside millions and later gives it CPS for each child adopted. One child will bring 4,000 to 6,000 dollars; where as a disabled child can bring 8,000 to 10,000. These people target single mother and families who would have the trouble obtaining an attorney.
The worst thing about this whole conspiracy for money is that barley anyone knows about it and when you tell people you may as well have a pamphlet of proof because “things like this don’t happen in the US”. The fact is they do and they are happening right now in front of everyone’s face. Society is so busy with their everyday lives they don’t see.. When they pass a child abuse or CPS page such as yours, they pass it buy thinking I know all about that..
I have started a four part page on this MAJOR issue with CPS… Although this has not happened to me, I can see that it very well could and I am going to do my damndist to make people aware and pay attention to what’s going on!!

I feel for you and your family, I know the sick empty feeling in the pit of your stomach. If I were you I would write to anyone and everyone, make calls to State reps and anyone else in state government you can think of. You would think that you would be able to get someone to assist you because that would fall under conflict of interest (I am not an expert) but that is what I am working on in my daughters situation. This Mothers day there is a silent protest in Washington DC at the white house people are leaving stuffed dolls or animals with stories pinned on the animal about their story. But I cannot make the trip so I will be doing it at our state capital along with what I hope will be a lot of other people.
If you can afford an attorney that would be your best bet but I would get one out of my county. That way they will work harder for you. Because they have nothing to lose if they make a judge mad or step on someones toes.
Anyway, I really do wish you the best and hope everything goes your way.

theyre taking my grandson and bending the rules to give him to mom boyfriend, so hw can be with 6 month old brother. Teh man is on abuse resgistry and they are erasing it so he can get him. this iis in shiawasee county michigan. The boyfriends mother works upstairs from cps and knows judges in the county...how do i fight that?

I just read your comments on another hubpage and I sent you a reply. I do live in Illinois and it is one of the worst states. Of course Illinois needs money so if they sell the babies they get help with our states financial problems. I am really tired tonight so going into what happened to my grand children would tear me up (as it always does) but they are corrupt and criminals. I understand now why parents do what they do. Stealing their children back for DCFS. I am surprised no one has went completely postal on a lot of them. Good luck to you and I will check out your face book page.
